Survivors Unite provides dedicated, skilled, compassionate and flexible sexual abuse recovery support to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the Scottish Borders through the provision of the Safe Oaks Project.
Our Safe Oaks Project is based in our new premises at Tweedmill Business Park, Selkirk. All staff are friendly, welcoming and understand the effects of abuse and trauma. Our confidential support is free and your safety is our priority.
Our Peer Support Group and Alchemy Film & Arts have made a short film to explain further what it's like to be part of Survivors Unite.

Survivors thought this film would resonate with others and be useful to those who are considering contacting us.
To create a world where those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse are understood, believed, supported and where children are not abused.
We work alongside adults (16+) affected by childhood sexual abuse in the Scottish Borders, providing safe support and understanding so that people can heal and flourish.
We aim to be led by our members with lived experience and to be person-centred, offering open-ended support, safety and confidentiality. We strive to be trustworthy, compassionate, transparent, inclusive and holistic.
Requests for support can be made by filling in a referral form on our website.
You can select which method of communication you would prefer whilst you are accessing our services.
If you were referred to us by another organisation you will also need to complete a confidentiality agreement which you can fill in online or it can be emailed to you.
We will contact you in the way you have requested us to communicate with you.
We will then arrange a time for you to speak with our Lead Recovery Practitioner.
This will be a conversation with our Lead Recovery Practitioner to help us understand your current situation and the best way we can support you. We will also share more about Survivors Unite and the way we work.
Due to an increase in demand for our service we operate a waiting list.
We understand how difficult this can be so at this stage you can choose to have Keep-in-touch calls until we are ready to offer you support.
Are you still waiting to hear from us? Our team endeavours to keep in touch with everyone on our waiting list. However, at times, we are unable to establish communication with a number of people. Maybe you have changed your number or email? If you have waited more than 8 weeks after making your referral and still not heard from us, please get in touch as soon as possible.
Come along and meet us through one of our events or drop in activities...
